It can be even worse when the girls you work with are dirty. I worked in a club for a year and a new girl showed up and told me at the end of the week that it had been her third time infected with chlamydia! She had waited a whole week working with us to say something. It was gross to think that any of the girls could have caught it by touching a pole after she touched herself or she went to the bathroom and didin’t wash her hands. You can also get a yeast infection from having an unclean pole touch your vagina. 

People are dirty.  All I’m saying is buy some hand sanitizer and coat yourself in it.  I do that every time I get off stage.  I work in a big club though. Forty girls a night on nine poles. All I’m saying is being is be weary, wash your hands, and SANITIZE!  It could keep you from catching something, spending money on treating it, and possibly even missing work if it’s really bad.  Until next time, stay clean!

Exotic dancer found unconscious in Waterbury bar dies 

According to Lt. Christopher Corbett, a police spokesman, the woman is a city resident, but he declined to release her name until an autopsy can be completed. The procedure is scheduled for today.

An employee at the club found the woman unconscious, but breathing at about 10:30 p.m., Corbett said. There are no signs of foul play in connection with her death, he added.

“We are investigating the possibility it was a drug overdose,” he said.

The woman was hospitalized Saturday after she was found in the bathroom, but died Sunday, he said. Family members have been notified of her death.

The club has been the scene of police and fire calls, including two small fires in 2005 and 2006 that sent customers and scantily clad women into the parking lot.

Understanding the emotions from both sides is paramount if there is any chance for the relationship to survive.  we’ll outline the reasoning and thought process from the dancers perspective and the other person here now.

The Partners Perspective
If the partner was a customer at one point, he or she may have had some initial fatuation or attraction to the dancer, whether it was physical or on a personal level.  They don’t always think ahead of what having a meaningful relationship may entail.  The emotional aspect at first can keep things hot and heavy, where the strong desire to just spend time together and get to know each other over rides the feelings that will soon come.  If the partner comes into work, he or she may soon develop feelings of jealousy over the different parts of the dancers job.  MANY different people will come in and the dancer puts herself into very close situations, wearing very little if anything.  The dancers body is on display for everyone, and the partner may feel like that the dancer is never really “just their own.”  They have to share the dancer in a sense with the world, because their naked body is on display all the time.  This jealousy can be disastrous if not dealt with positively.

Another part of the dancers life is her regulars.  They may buy her gifts or shower her with A LOT of cash.  The partner may have feelings of inadequacy to contribute to the relationship financially as the dancer may possibly be making way more then the partner.  These feelings of inadequacy can lead to other emotions, distrust of what she is doing with her regulars, resentment that they make so much more, feeling like they are never equals because of the financial difference.  If the dancer has given her phone number out to customers, it can be even 10x worse as she will be receiving calls at all times of the day; having her regulars asking her to dinners, for dates, etc.  The feeling of distrust grows exponentialy and it usually is more then most can handle.

Another aspect is the hours many dancers work.  They go to work late and come home even later.  If the partner has a regular day job, they may be hard pressed to find meaningful couple time together.  One or the others job may suffer because of the two staying up too late or skipping work to spend time with each other.  Dating or living with a dancer can be very taxing.  And if you add all of the feelings associated with doing so just listed, it’s no wonder many dancers don’t have very long relationships. 

The dancer’s perspective
The dancer’s job is her livlihood.  She may not have time to always go out and meet new people outside of work.  If she does, the stigma of being a stripper usually intrigues a few at first, but their intentions of having a meaningful relationship with her are minimal at best.  If she meets a customer she finds intriguing, she may pursue the person until a relationship develops.  If the partner develops the feelings outlined above, she may distance herself a bit because this is what she was doing for a job when the two met.  The partner knows this, but they also know that is how they met and may worry she will find someone else better next week at work.  If the partner asks the dancer to quit their job, this leads usually to one of two things.  First a huge fight about the conflict of interests of her working as a dancer.  Next the partner will either agree with it for a bit longer if the girl decides to keep working as a stripper, or she will quit dancing for her new love.  This may seem reasonable at first glance, but what happens shortly later isn’t.  Resentment from the one giving the concessions will build and build until the relationship itself nears critical conditions.  Unless something miraculous happens, the relationship will end there.

The dancer while in a relationship will also be constantly bombarded with interest from adoring customers.  She has a potentially large  pool of possible suitors always at her feet.  If she is with someone, she must constantly be drawing the line of what borders on being faithful, what keeps their partner happy, and what they must live with if they make a mistake.  In actuallity, dancers are not much different then the general population as far as having someone being interested in you.  Either at work, a hobby or past time, or even the internet, people are lusting after someone else.  It is just much more front and center for a dancer.  She must make the same decisions everyone faces everyday that is in a committed relationship.  Should they be faithful, and what exactly defines being faithful?  This can be debated very widely and liberally.  But it should be something the couple agrees upon what is acceptable between the two.  Obviously anything the one thinks would hurt themselves if the other did it, should be enough for them to understand that it would hurt the other person.  People can be selfish and uncaring at times in a relationship when it involves personal gratification, and they may think the other won’t find out, but it’s still not fair.  And the person doing the wrong has to live with it if they have any conscience at all. 

It all comes down to whether the dancer has strong morals or if they worry only about themselves.  The main thing is if they want the relationship to successfully work, they have to understand the partners perspective, and the same goes for the partner.  They must realize it is a job, not like many others, but it is still a job.  Trust can be difficult to attain, especially in the early parts of the relationship, but it will grow if both partners intend to work any issues or difficulties that arise. 

The relationship outlined above is much like any other relationship.  Communication of what both partners want and expect, trust, and the ability to comprimise on some issues is paramount to the survival of the commitment.

The most important part of making money in any line of work, including exotic dancing, is setting goals.  They have to be achievable and realistic, and at the same time they have to be something you work hard for otherwise you are just short changing yourself.  Once you set a goal for the nite, you have to figure out how best to attain it.  And I am going to tell you how to do just that. 

1.  Be to work on time!  This is important not only to keep your job and to keep the club manager happy, but if you aren’t on time you are missing out on opportunity.  The people who show up to strip clubs early are there for one of two reasons.  They are there to either belly up at the bar and get cheap drinks, or they are there to spend money on the girls and unwind after work.  And the ones there early to spend money on girls are sometimes the better spenders of the nite.  If you are to work on time you can be the one to catch these good tippers, instead of another girl taking what could be yours.

2.  Not only be to work on time, but be ready to work when you get there!  This means you will have to get your hair and make-up ready before you arrive at work, and you will have to start getting ready for work earlier, but knowing that there is money already waiting for you at the club should be the incentive you need to achieve your goal for the nite.

3.  Pay attention to the people tipping early in the nite!  Once you find the few people in early looking to spend money, give them your full attention.  Don’t spend time sitting at the bar.  Don’t waste time in the dressing room chatting it up with the other girls or on the phone.  Sit with the customers and give them the care they want and need to part with their hard earned money.  There may only be 2 or 3 spenders early in the nite, and they may have to leave soon to get home to the wife and kids, so you will have to hustle, but you will be well rewarded in the end.

Remember that when you set a goal, there are small milestones you will have to reach on the way to your monetary goal for the nite.  If you set your goal at $400 for the day, and there are 3 to 4 tipping customers in during the early hours, you should easily be able to make $100 off of them.  And you will be $100 closer to your goal for the nite with only a couple hours of work.  You won’t be playing catch up, you won’t be getting discouraged, and your confidence in your ability will increase leading you to make even more the rest of the nite.  Always take advantage of any opportunity presented to you!

At the end of the day, you are the only thing standing between you and success.  Success and winning is an attitude.  Success isn’t measured in money, power, or cars.  Success is a  frame of mind, so much that if you think about this scenario you’ll understand why.  If you took away all of Donald Trump’s money and property, in a few years he would have it all back.  Now if you gave someone $10 million dollars, like they just won the powerball lottery, in a few years they would likely have lost it all.  There’s a reason.  One takes responsibility for their actions, and accepts failure.  The other has all kinds of reasons why they lost the money, the wife spent too much, i gave some to my family and friends, that 2nd house in South Miami looked like such a good deal.  You see, sometimes failure is a bump on the road to success.  Not everyone sees it like that, and they are the ones who continually blame other things or people for their failures.  You have to have heard of the saying, “you’re gonna have to break a few eggs if you’re gonna make an omelet.”  That’s exactly true, some bad things will happen on the way to success, but you learn from those situations, not sit there and stew about them. 

Now if you are currently one of those people who like to lay blame on everyone else, you are going to have to change something about your self.  Your attitude!  If you have the attitude of an unsuccessful person, no amount of reading or self analysis is going to make you successful.  You have to be the one wanting to succeed, and get where you want to be.  The moment you change your attitude, opportunity will come to you.  Here are a few points to help you understand why you are where you are.

 You have exactly what you want right now.

Making money and lots of it really isn’t that hard for exotic dancers.  But then why is it only a handful of dancers or maybe even one at a club makes most of the money a nite?  Because most dancers are ok with where they are at in life right now.  They have enough to exist on, to get drunk on, to go buy some new clothes and pay their cell phone bill.  They are happy in their little existance.  If they weren’t they would do something about it, wouldn’t they?  If they REALLY wanted something terrible bad, like a new or nicer car, or a big screen t.v. or a much bigger apartment, they would go out and work that much harder until they had the money saved up for it.  Most people wish they had nicer things in life, but if they wanted it bad enough they would go out and make it happen.  Wishing and wanting are two different things.  Understanding the difference is crucial to being successful.  You may wish you had a nicer vehicle like right now, but what exactly are you doing about it to make it happen?

Why? 

Now figuring out what is a good enough reason to go out and work harder and smarter, this is what will motivate you to make things happen.  Most people stay in the lifestyle they are in because they don’t have a good enough reason to leave it.  They are comfortable in their existance, and while everyone wishes they were rich, most will settle for what they have now.  Why do you want to be successful?  Why do you want that nice car, why do you want a bigger bank account?  The reason you haven’t been successful in the past isn’t totally because you wished too much, it’s because the reason you had for being successful wasn’t a good enough one to get you going.

Remember, at the end of the nite, you are the only thing standing between going home with $100 or with $450.  Where you want to be and where you wish to be are two different things, and you alone are standing in the way of those two things.  What is your reason why?  Figure this out and you’ll be earning what you want, and starting owning the things you want.  Stop wishing and start asking yourself “why?”
