We’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this topic the last couple months and really tried to analyze the nights that dancers, even newbies, brought home major bank. We’ve asked others their opinions and what was going through their heads on those nights, and how they walked out of the club with huge wads of cash. We’ve narrowed it down to one single factor, and it’s something any dancer, at any level, can make happen. Maybe you’ve even touched upon it a time or two on your very best nights of work. Here’s how it is for us when we experience it.

One with Now

During our time working, we often can get distracted by conversation, the music around us, by something that happened the other day, or maybe by a bill that is coming due shortly. Whatever it is, we lose focus for a minute or maybe hours, and our productivity decreases. This happens in all areas of life, not just at work. But, have you ever had a time in your life where you just lose track of time, where everything else that is stressfull or on your mind just fades away? When we have our best nights at work, that is what happens to us. Everything just clicks, because we are completely present to what’s going on. This may start to sound like some psycho babble, but stick with us a bit longer here.

Maybe you’ve tried multi-tasking chores around the house, or even at other jobs you’ve had in the past. While it seems you are accomplishing many things in a short amount of time, you are not focused on any one particular thing. This leads to distraction, and the quality of your work possibly (more likely probably) suffers. You may miss small things or details, or completely forget to do a step in the process. Giving your full attention to any activity or process tends to lead to successful completion of what you are doing. Dancing isn’t any different.

When you step out of the dressing room, whether it is to go on stage or sell dances to a customer, distractions of what’s going on in your life or drama with somebody else can easily interfere with your work. It’s happened to all of us many times. Maybe you just had an arguement with a loved one or you have a sick child at home. Those things are important to all of us, but while you are at work there isn’t much you can do about it. Giving complete focus to what you are doing keeps you from missing an important step when dealing with a customer, or missing that step when you are getting off stage (and consequently tumbling off on your face in front of everyone).

When you are having a good night at your work, time seems to go quickly and you might wish there was more time left in the night to do more. When you are having an amazing night at work, you completely forget time and don’t know it’s over until the lights come up. You are one with your environment and it has your complete attention. Giving your complete attention to the present includes eliminating thoughts about the past and the future, which is going to be a totally separate post in the very near future. Eliminating those two aspects, can literally change your life, that’s why it’s important enough to garner it’s own topic space.

But, back to being one in the present, you might be asking yourself “How do I go about doing it?” That’s an important question and we’re going to tell you how you can begin. The first thing to do is eliminate all physical distractions. Television, cell phones, computers, and even other people are great examples of physical distractions that you will need to get rid of to start the focusing process.

The next thing to do is stop mental distractions from happening. Mental distractions are the times your mind wanders and jumps from thought to thought. When you are trying to focus on a task at hand, these types of mental daydreams or distractions can be devastating to performance. The key here is to have total awareness of the situation and realize what’s happening when you mind begins to wander. However, once you begin to understand the times your mind is getting off course, then you will begin to truly focus on whatever task is at hand.

How does all this relate to dancing exactly? Put away the cell phone. Forget the drama with other dancers. Truly focus on the conversation and sales process with each and every customer. Listen to what they’re saying, not what’s on the television behind the bar. You’ll find yourself selling a ton more dances in the process when you start doing these things on a regular basis. Be present in the moment and what you desire will become more achievable.

Josh & Chandra

Many girls in this business do tan. The reasons for doing so are various, but include a healthier glow, boost self esteem, and possibly clearer skin. Of course there are more reasons, but that’s not the point of this article, as we have discussed a bit of this in an earlier article which can be found here. The point is how to tan safely and protect your skin and keep from burning.

Your mom prolly told you that sunburns are bad, and with skin cancer gracing the headlines frequently the last few years we know it to be true. But what can you do to avoid all the bad things that can come with a nice tan? Well first, don’t get burned.

If you are just going to be outside doing yard work, cover yourself up completely, and use a sunscreen on all exposed areas. When you do tan just for that purpose, you don’t need to be out there for hours doing so. Reapply your sunscreen frequently, at least every two hours, and give your skin a break by finding some shade for part of the time you are out. Also, use aloe on your skin after exposure to repair any damage that may have occured, even if you know you haven’t burned.

There are more things you should do and there are many great free resources online to learn more. We recently wrote an article for eHow on how you can protect yourself from the negative effects of tanning and you can read it HERE. We appreciate you checking it out and hope you learn something new and useful.

LOS ANGELES – An exotic dancer was set on fire outside the club where she worked early Thursday, burning more than 60 percent of her body, police said. They were searching for two suspects.

A woman and a man called the 27-year-old dancer outside around 1 a.m. and then doused her with a flammable liquid next to the Babes & Beer sports club in the San Fernando Valley, police said. The dancer ran back inside and patrons came to her aid, police said.

Police identified the suspects as Rianne Celine Theriault-Odom, 27, and Nathaniel Marquis Petrillo, 22, both frequent patrons of the club. They were being sought for investigation of attempted murder, police said.

“Given the condition of this victim, they may be responsible for ultimately her murder,” Deputy Chief Michel Moore said. “This is a terrible, terrible attack.”

Moore said the dancer, a mother of two, was in grave condition after being burned over more than 60 percent of her body. Her identity was not immediately released.

A sign at the club indicated it was a sports bar. A message left at the club was not immediately returned.

What a horrible story. We wish her and her family the best but with the extext of her injuries she may not make it. Just a reminder, be safe at work. People are crazy and you really shouldn’t trust anyone.

Monday and Tuesday this week was DEAD at the club I’ve been working at the last few months. Like the slowest I’ve yet to ever see it. However, I still walked out with a little over $250 each night. This is one of the lowest amounts I’ve taken home from this club, BUT more then a few of the girls took home around $50 for a full nights work. That’s HORRIBLE! If there is one lesson here, it is to KEEP HUSTLING. Even when it’s dead, there are still customers there. If all the customers there are already talking to girls, remember the ones who tip you well on stage. Then when that girl goes up on stage go over and sit with that customer(s) who was tipping you well. Focus on selling them dances, but remember you can’t just go up and starting asking to head back to the couch room. You have to “sell” them first.

All of the selling strategies I and my closest friends use, I go into detail in our e-books “How to Make More Money in the Gentlemen’s Club V2.0″ and our newest one “The Successful Stripper.” You should never walk up to a customer and ask “Do you wanna dance?”, ESPECIALLY when it is slow. You have the perfect opportunity on slow nights to turn a couple customers into your nite’s paycheck. If you would like to learn more on how you can learn to bring home bank on even the slowest of night’s, check out our new package e-book deal. You get both of our dancer e-books plus our dieting e-book for only $19.97. A great and small investment considering the return you will get when you begin applying all the techniques found in our products. To read more, visit here. To order, click here.

People have different likes and dislikes in all types of music. When you think of music to dance to at work, what do you think of? I’m a very ecclectic person when it comes to the songs in my set. I love rock, reggae, hip-hop, old jazz, and 80′s hair band music. When you pick something to dance to at work, pick something that makes you smile and be happy. If you do that, you’ll put on a hell of a performance. Every time that I dance to Whitesnake or AC/CD, I get happy, I dance sexier and I have a big smile on my face. Sometimes dancers or the DJ will tell you to pick music that fits the crowd. Sometimes they are right if it’s a big crowd of older guys. They are not going to like screaming death metal or rap. Country, around here anyway, gets those guys off. Lol. Lesson here: Dance to what makes you happy and perform your best. Smile! It’s good for you.

Thanks!

Like many other girls, I like to keep my regulars updated on my whereabouts, where I’m working, my mood, and even things like my upcoming birthday etc (gifts are always appreciated lol). An easy way to do this in today’s modern techie world is through a service called http://www.twitter.com. Twitter has helped me keep in touch with friends and regulars by me updating a brief message from twitter’s website. Even better I can access it from my phone, and my regulars can get an update message from me by way of twitter’s website, their email, or a text message sent straight to their phone from twitter. And if you’re worried about your privacy, you always have complete control over who you allow to follow your updates, or “tweets” as twitter likes to call them. You can always block somebody you don’t want updated if someone slipped by that you formerly trusted. And for your regulars to start following you on twitter, all you have to do is give them your screen name, or profile name, and they can then request to be added to your subscriber list.

Let them know where you will be working, what days, times, etc. Let them know of your special events, or even your goings on in your life, if you’re that open with them of course. It’s a great tool, and they will never get to know your personal phone number, email address, or any other type of personal info. But best of all, IT’S FREE!!

There are numerous reasons why you should ALWAYS be to work on time. It’s one of my pet peeves, and honestly there have been a few times I haven’t been able to be there exactly when I was supposed to be, but life happens and I always felt bad for being even 5 minutes late. Here’s some legitimate reasons why you should also strive to always be to work on time, no matter what profession you are in.

1. It’s very unprofessional to show up late, and your excuses don’t ever sound as good as you think they do. Remember, dancing is a Job. You usually either get a base pay for being to work on time, or worst you may be subject to a penalty out of pocket if your club requires it for showing up late. It also puts a bad taste in managers mouth’s when a girl is consistantly late and they will remember it the next time they are calling girls to come into work.

2. Showing up late takes time away from you actually working the floor or getting on stage. Depending on what your average hourly pull in is, and how late you are, you just missed out on “x” amount of money that potentially could have been yours. Also you missed out on time that could have been spent building relationships with customers that could later turn into private dances.

3. It may cost you your job that nite, or worse, that week. And now you just lost out on ALOT of money.

4. Being late also creates drama with other girls. They will bitch you missed your set, that why they are letting you come into work so late when they are always there on time, blah, blah, blah. Regardless of what it is exactly they are saying, you can almost guarantee there will always be at least one complaining about your tardiness.

Whatever your reason, even if it is genuine, there is no great reason to be tardy. But in the event you are going to be, MAKE SURE you call the club and let them know that you will be late, the reason why, and what time they can expect to see you there. This will save some face for you, and they will appreciate knowing what’s going on with you and why you aren’t there on time. Rant over.
